Madonna's adoption case delayed Malawian judge

A Malawian judge delayed until Friday a ruling in Madonna's adoption case, after an hour long closed door hearing on Monday, March 30. Madonna is in Malawi with her three children for the adoption of a second child from the country, a 4-year-old girl named Chifundo ("Mercy") James, who was born to an unwed teenaged mother who died shortly after her birth.

Madonna and former husband Guy Ritchie adopted their 3-year-old son Banda from the south-east African country in 2006. The adoption was mired in controversy amidst media allegations they violated that country's adoption laws, which mandates that foreign adopters spend a year or more living in the country with the children they want to adopt.

Madonna has three children Lourdes (b.October 14, 1996), Rocco (b. August 2000) and David Banda(b. September 24, 2005).Lourdes is from her relationship to fitness trainer Carlos Leon. Roco is her biological son from former husband Guy Ritchie and Banda was adopted by Madonna and Ritchie from Malawi.
