Rebecca Black biography and pictures gallery 2011

Rebecca Black biography and pictures gallery 2011
Rebecca Black (born June 21, 1997) is an American teen pop singer who gained worldwide notoriety with her 2011 single "Friday" through the record label ARK Music Factory. The song received negative critical response, with many music critics and viewers dubbing it the "worst song ever." The negative criticism and use of social media can be credited for Black's success. The music video, uploaded to YouTube, has received over 109 million views as of April 18, 2011, causing Black to gain international attention as a "viral star

Rebecca Black was born on June 21, 1997, in Anaheim Hills, a neighborhood in Anaheim, California. She is the daughter of John Jeffery Black and Georgina Marquez Kelly, both veterinarians, and is of Spanish, Italian, Polish, and English descent. An honor student, Black studied dance, auditioned for school shows, attended music summer camps, and began singing publicly in 2008 after joining the patriotic group Celebration USA
In late 2010, a classmate of Black and music-video client of Ark Music Factory, a Los Angeles label, told her about the company. Black's mother paid $4,000 for Ark Music to produce her daughter's music video while the Blacks retained ownership of the master. The single, "Friday," written entirely by Ark, was released on YouTube and iTunes. The song's video was uploaded to YouTube on February 10, 2011, and received approximately 1,000 views in the first month. The video went viral on Friday, March 11, 2011, acquiring millions of views on YouTube in a matter of days, becoming the most-talked-about topic on social networking site Twitter, and garnering mostly negative media coverage. As of April 18, the video had received more than 2.1 million dislikes on YouTube compared to about 290,000 likes. As of March 22, 2011, first-week sales of her digital single were estimated to be around 40,000 by Billboard. Black appeared on the March 22, 2011 episode of The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, during which she performed the single and discussed the negative reaction to it. The song has peaked on the Billboard Hot 100 and the New Zealand Singles Chart at number 58 and 33, respectively. In the UK, the song debuted at number sixty-one on the UK Singles Chart.
By March 25, Black had hired a publicist and a manager. Her manager confirmed that he has been contacted by songwriters and record labels with ideas for more songs and an album. In an interview with The Sun, Black said that she is recording a new song called "LOL," which is considered for release as a single, and material for her debut album at Flying Pig Productions studio in Los Angeles. However, on her official Twitter account, Rebecca announced that the song will not be called "LOL." At least one celebrity news website reports that no new single is in the works, citing Black's manager saying "Rebecca does not have a new single titled 'LOL.' Just to be clear she does not have any new single recorded at this time."  She is currently working without a record deal. She also said that the album would contain songs with themes similar to that of "Friday", as she wants it to be "appropriate and clean." Black teamed up with Funny or Die on Friday, April 1 for April Fools Day (the site was renamed Friday or Die) for a series of videos, including one which addresses the controversy about the driving kids in her music video, stating "We so excited about safety." She has also stated that she is a fan of Justin Bieber, and expressed interest in performing a duet with him

Makeshift Zen Garden

This morning I woke up feeling a little out of sorts, (the lady from the job interview said she would call yesterday and still hasn't), I haven't gotten called to sub yet (really annoying), and I am feeling unmotivated lately with running. That time of the month maybe??? I don't know. Something wasn't right this morning, until......
I walked outside and it was BEAUTIFUL!!! (You can see the bird flying if you look closely) It's about 70 degrees here. It's amazing what a little sun and warm weather can do for your mood. I decided to make steel cut oats with delicious additions such as:
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • splash of vanilla extract
  • tbsp pb
  • 10 chocolate morsels
  • walnuts
  • flax seed
  • skim milk
  • dash of cinnamon
I also made a hard boiled egg (I am obsessed with eggs).

I thought my set-up with coffee, oatmeal, a rock from one of my dad's trips and his bonsai tree looked like a zen garden. Definitely brought me good balance. It was so peaceful, except for the fact that the birds where sooooo loud! They are definitely fighting over territory or something. I read some of my book "Reclaiming Paris", and was transformed into the woman's sultry tale of love.... then I was woken up to reality shortly after. I have been totally blah when it comes to running. I haven't ran since my last entry (on Tuesday), which is not good being that the race is 11 days away. My sister and I may go running to the bay (3.3 miles) later on today. It's a sore subject, literally, for me right now. I have been getting annoying shin splints....

On a deeper note, I am so sick of NOT KNOWING where my future is going in the job realm of things. I mean, if I did not get this job, the lady should have just told me yesterday. Instead I am waiting around for news that most likely is bad. At least I have the nice weather to keep me balanced today... GRR...

Also as an added bonus to this post (lol), I thought I would share with you pictures of where I go to retreat (aka my bedroom)! It says a lot about me. It's calm, cozy, eclectic and I think the decor almost resembles a cafe. I love retreating here... I painted the walls luscious (yes luscious) purple as soon as I moved back home in August. This is where the magic (who am I kidding) happens....

I had to sell my full bed in Colorado because that obviously wasn't fitting in my jeep. I love my room because each and every picture, decoration and piece has some meaning or memory for me. I have all of New Belgium's brew posters lined on one wall (Skinny Dip is my favorite brew), with my hiking and fishing hat and my favorite scarf. I've had that comforter since Junior year of college and I still love it. That purple blanket is from CityChic and it's softer than a baby's bottom. This is my nightstand with my little inspirational book "Buddha's Little Instruction Book", My necklace holder, a vase from LBI, candles that don't light anymore but they're pretty, a collage picture my sister gave me last year for my bday when I was in Colorado and my ten dollar lamp.Above is my VERY EXPENSIVE ART COLLECTION. My own little art gallery consisting of Van Gogh's Cafe' Terrace at Night and a vintage Sailor Jerry poster I got last night out. C'mon I'm only 23, I have years to add art to my walls:-)

Well ,that about does it for me. Hope you all are enjoying your day. Have a great weekend, It's gonna rain here!!

P.S. - My sister Dana is trying out to be an Eagles Cheerleader tomorrow! It is such a selective process and I give her so much credit for doing it! She's been working out so hard and I am so proud of her! So if you get a second send her a little good luck message over at her blog. I'm sure she'd appreciate it! Love ya Sister!

P.P.S - I am in NO WAY getting married anytime soon, but if I was, I would opt for this 5 dollar dress , soooo pretty!!! (link courtesy of A CUP OF JO)

Oh Happy Day

happy happy happy happy....

Today was a good day.

I have been "job hunting" FOREVER and "soul searching" forever and today I feel like I might have found a way to "find" both at the same time. Since living in the mountains last summer I have been intrigued by the production of produce (organic) from the farm. I swear I have had this itching inside of me to pick up everything and run an organic farm, raise little children have a mountain man husband and be content with the simplicity of life, haha. Well lets back up a little...

Tomorrow I have another "farm apprenticeship" interview only 1 1/2 hours from my house. It's too good to be true. I'll be paid well, fed, housed and taught everything I'd need to know about agricultural management. I went from an electronic media/video editor/wedding event girl to this. I know. But it's the first time I've felt "good" with the direction I was going. Who knows where it'll lead, if I'll even defintely get the apprenticeship but....today was a good day:-)

Besides the mentally good day, today was physically good as well. My sister and I attended the best strength class in the gym, and I did 15 minutes on the stairmaster. Last night I also ran 2.65 miles (taking 2 minute break) and that was such an accomplishment for me. I notice my muscles getting more pronouned and stronger esp. in my arms. Still need to get the weight down more...baby steps.

AND....I made delicious scallop/pea chowder which was soo friggin' good. It was a hit at home. My family is on a soup kick or something.

I also took the next step with contacting this guy I like...that's a little bit of a secret and I'm totally freaked out...soooo subject change.

Do you ever get those days where everything seems aligned? Today was this for me:-)

Goodnight everyone!

Melancholy

I don't know what it is about today, but I'm feeling really blah. I think when I get in these modes it usually means I am lacking excitement or newness. I am getting in the grove of the gym but, I don't know. I was looking at pictures of my friends out in CO and I got really sad.... I love my friends here, but I miss Fort Collins. AND HGTV's House Hunters was in Foco last night. Like what? I feel like I NEED to start working and this waiting business is getting old. Money is running out......For those who don't know, I have been in talks with a production company about possibly starting in a position in January if all goes well. BUT still there is a slight possibility it may not. I'm also hoping a possible job pans out from my freelance work in New Orleans. I feel like something is missing though. Also, it could have to do with the fact that I had a dream last night about my ex-boyfriend, who has been popping up in my dreams alot. Bottom line is, I know I don't want to be with him, but he was my only "love". Wow, I need to lay down and have a psychologist talk me through all of this.

Something I watched yesterday DID strike me as true. Kristin Davis (Charlotte from SATC) was on Oprah and was saying how her 20's were miserable. Now, I don't think my 20's are anywhere near miserable. Then Sarah Jessica Parker chimed in and said how to much emphasis in her generation was put on having it all together by age 25, when she said she should've been focusing on new experiences, discoveries and traveling. She feels the set-backs and let-downs that come along with being 20 are nessessary to develop. I guess what she was saying is you won't understand everything until the confusion has passed by....

Some of my friends are focusing on their significant others, others jobs and some just having fun. I'm not sure where I want my focus to be right now.... I am just ready for something challenging to take hold of me, because I'm a restless soul and I need some stirring!

Thanks for listening.... Happy Friday!

P.S. The gym was nice, I did
30 on Elliptical (Level 6 & 7)
biceps, shoulder, tricep machine (3 reps of 12 on each)
leg lifts with 4 pound weight (60)
other random stuff
